The Samuel Sweater came to life when I wanted to create an extra special gift for a newborn. Countless swatches with different cables were knitted, washed, and blocked to find the right combination. The result was a sweet little cable sweater with an oversized fit, making it easy to put on and comfortable and roomy for the little one.
The sweater is worked top-down. First, the upper back is worked. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are worked separately with increases for the front and neckline. The front and back are then joined under the arms and worked in the round.
